GRAPPLING WITH THE UNREAL

Hosted by:

Jack Horrorchild

.

All across this world of ours countless practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, sambo, wrestling, and even shootfighting, but, almost none, that is, only one (that I’m aware of) dare practice GRAPPLING WITH THE UNREAL. When asked why I do it, I answer, “It’s just what I do, ya know?” And, usually, if I accompany my answer with an intense stare, that is enough to get whoever is pestering me with moronic questions to buzz off so that I can return to doing what no one else will.

.

Most (pretty much everyone you have known, or will know) cannot even begin to comprehend what it means to GRAPPLE WITH THE UNREAL. If you’d like to have at least an inkling of what it’s all about then I’d suggest you pay attention to what I’m laying on you, ya dig?

Do you even dare?

Below you will find no.2 of two images in the ongoing ‘Imagine’ series within which the artist reminds himself to imagine various things by writing what is to be imagined on a piece of yellow paper and placing it in a manner that will allow him to see it every single day.

.

In this particular image you see a sign asking the artist to imagine if things were different. If you would like, please, attempt for yourself to imagine things being different than they are right now.

My Life: It isn’t easy

.

“It troubles me that people mistakenly believe my life is easy”

-Jack Horrorchild

.

It happens a lot. People thinking my life is “easy”, or that I “have it made”, and, though I’ve never bothered to mention my feelings about this in the past, I tell you now, I don’t like it.

You see, before, I was worried not only about people thinking my life easy, but that they’d also not like me if I complained that they thought my life was easy. But, no more. I’m fighting back. Below, is an illustration of a situation not unlike something I have experienced and which was anything but “easy”. Believe me.

IT HAS BEEN YEARS

.

Yes, many years have passed since I saw it, and, not surprisingly, no one is any more interested in hearing about it now then they were then. Why, I can remember many, not unlike yourselves, telling me, in no uncertain terms, that they had “just about enough” of what a good deal of them referred to as “my nonsense”. To which I replied, “That’s cool”, and also, in my own way, attempted to make amends for my horrendous assumption that anyone wanted to “hear about it” by assuring those who had, as I mentioned earlier, their fill of “my nonsense”, that it was not at all my intention to “harsh their buzz”.
