“YOU PEOPLE DESERVE THIS, YOU ALL DESERVE THIS”

The following description of ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 5, Episode 17, found at CBS.com, is disappointingly inadequate, and I present it here with the reminder to you people that I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.

“Erin is rattled when an unknown assailant breaks into her apartment and also attacks her co-worker. Meanwhile, Jamie and Eddie discover a pipe bomb* in an elderly woman’s apartment, and Frank looks into a charity that is soliciting money for the NYPD”

-CBS.Com ‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 17 summary

.

*The pipe bomb, discovered by Officers Reagan and Janko, belonged to John Johanssen (a flatmate of the elderly woman) who is described by another flatmate (Maria, the junkie) as follows:

“…a jerk, another middle age white dude bitching about minorities taking his job. With a big chip on his shoulder. One time he talked about blowing up whoever it was who fired him, but, I just thought he was talking out his ass.”

.

After running some ‘calculations’ in conjunction with a ‘meticulous review’ of individual frames of the scene from the episode in question I have determined that Officer Jamie Reagan, through what I’m sure would be described as a feat accomplished only by an expert marksman, was able to place a round from his ‘Glock 19’ (standard issue of the NYPD) squarely in the madman’s forehead (and subsequently save the lives of countless innocent individuals) at a distance of approximately 26 feet.(see illustration below)
