“YOU KNOW, I CAME BACK FROM NAM, MAN, HAD A COUPLE SHAKY YEARS… I NEVER HIT THE STREET… LET ME TELL YA, THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD”

.

The summary below is copied and pasted here exactly as it appears on the CBS.com/BlueBloods website. If you choose, and it is your choice, to read the summary below then I want you to understand that I am simply presenting it here as a service with no assumption that anyone really gives a good God damn enough to waste one moment of their precious and fleeting time on this planet to reading some garbage typed up by a drunk, and or stoned, corporate lackey who most likely doesn’t even watch the show they are describing.

.

“After leaving a club late night, three privileged guys senselessly beat up and ultimately murder a homeless man in the alley behind the club. Danny and Jackie find out the victim is a former Marine and war hero and Danny finds himself determined to find the killer having been a marine himself. We learn from Kimberly, the victim’s former girlfriend, that a friend’s death during combat tormented Michael, causing drug and alcohol addiction which were responsible for his homelessness. Security cameras reveal one of the three suspects who comes clean and confesses that his boss Cassidy actually committed the murder with a baseball bat. Cassidy, a high profile real estate developer, is very cocky and has paid off the other suspect so no one can corroborate the story. In the end, Danny finds another homeless girl who was a witness and crucial evidence allowing him to convict Cassidy. Michael has a proper military funeral and is buried with his Silver Star which Cassidy had stolen. Meanwhile there is continued conflict between the Mayor and Frank; the Mayor leaking erroneous information that Frank is planning to run against him in order to get attention from the press. ”

.

Upon entering the alley, where they eventually mercilessly beat to death a homeless Marine, one of the “three privileged guys” says to his pals, “I’d jump into the Hudson river to get away from those cows. How’d we lose all the hot chicks?” Then, once discovering the homeless Marine inside his makeshift shelter, another of the “privileged guys” asks the troubled veteran, in a faux posh accent, “Yo, are you pimping your crib?”. Sensing trouble the Marine stands up nervously as one of the “privileged guys” asks, “Hey, what’s the best part about dating the homeless?…hey, I’m asking you..you can drop them off wherever you want” to which the once proud Marine responds, “I don’t want any problems”. Unfortunately, his request was denied.

“PRAY TO WHAT GOD, FOR WHAT? JUST CUT THE CRAP. JUST STOP KIDDING OURSELVES. ADMIT THAT IT’S A LOSING BATTLE”

.

If you haven’t yet watched season 3, episode 23 of ‘Blue Bloods’ I advise you not to read the summary provided below as it really contains way too much information. What is with the drunks down at CBS.com who write these anyway? One day the summary is something like “The Reagans have a little bit of trouble, eat dinner, and say a prayer”, and then the next day it’s as if they’re getting paid by the word. Jesus, how hard can it be, aren’t these people ‘professionals’? Well, regardless of the incompetence of those fools down at CBS.com this episode kicks ass. Not only does Officer Jamie Reagan (the youngest of the Reagans to join the NYPD, and a Harvard trained Lawyer to boot) suffer a crisis of faith, as we all have at one time or another, right? right?, he also receives some words of wisdom from Grandpa Henry Reagan who responds to Jamie’s questioning of whether or not God can hear us with the following:

“He can always hear you, but you have to listen very carefully for his response.”

.

“As Danny continues his investigation into the Los Lordes gang, he and Baez initially come up empty on leads until they track gang leader Santana’s car. After getting a warrant to search the vehicle, they find drugs concealed inside and arrest Santana’s girlfriend Nona behind the wheel. Santana refuses to turn himself in in exchange for her release, and after Santana orders a hit on her in jail, he and Baez are able to convince Nona to testify against him. Meanwhile, when a mentally challenged teenager fires shots at Frank and Mayor Poole during a town hall meeting, the mayor is left critically injured. Jamie suspects the teen was put up to the assassination attempt and coaxes him into identifying the Los Lordes gang member who tricked him into the task. With Hector’s testimony and Nona’s corroboration, Frank is able to take down Santana and the majority of the Los Lordes gang.”

.

After Hector, the mentally challenged teenager, has been taken into custody (for shooting beloved Mayor Carter Poole) Officer Jamie Reagan (following up on a tip) visits him and notices he has some fresh bruises on his face. Turning to one of the Detectives, Jamie asks,  “What happened to him?” to which the Detective replies, “Looks like he fell down.”

The planets align so rare

“The two primeval Spirits (mainiiū pauruiiē) who are twins (yə̄mā) were revealed [to me] in sleep. Their () ways of thinking, speaking, and behaving are two: the good and the evil (vahiiō akəmčā). And between these two [ways] the wise men (hudåŋhō) have rightly chosen, and not the foolish ones (duždåŋhō). And when these two Spirits met, they established at the origin (paouirīm) life and non-life (gaēmcā ajiiāitīmcā) and that at the end (apə̄məm) the worst existence (aŋhuš acištō) will be for the followers of Falsehood (drəguuatąm) and for the follower of Truth (aṧāunē) the Best Thinking (vahištəm manō).”

I said a prayer the other day* and when God answered me* He* reassured me that I was right about pretty much everything

.

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

-1John 5:15

.

*I was just sitting around, not doing much of anything, when I thought to myself, I thought, “I should say a prayer about something”

.

*I know, I know, you’re thinking, “God answered you?”, it sounds nuts, right? But, for my purposes here, let’s just pretend it is true.

.

*Yes, definitely ‘He’.

No. 3 in the ‘Imagine’ series

.

“Why not?”

That is the response I gave when first I did think to even imagine that God was talking to me. I mean, perhaps if I had spent an appropriate amount of time considering what it might mean to imagine such a thing I may have quickly removed the very idea from my mind and began instead imagining something else entirely. But, I didn’t. And, the reason I did not is simple. I really did imagine that God spoke to me.

Anyway, below is an image of (among other things) a yellow piece of paper (strategically placed so that I have no choice but to see it every single day) upon which is written the words

IMAGINE

(It’s God talking to you)

.

It is said God doesn’t speak to everyone.

The Vagaries

.

Did God really just one day realize “their unholy aim”? I mean, it seems unlikely that HE would not know what was happening. What seems more likely is that HE, due, most likely, to HIS love for mankind, just kept denying what was happening as the tower kept getting higher and higher until HE was left no choice but to scatter HIS children across the world. It had to be done. Whether you believe it or not, they had it coming. Nicolás Gómez Dávila wrote “Our last hope lies in the injustice of God.”

What was it Jack Nicholson said in that one movie?
Oh, yeah,

“YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH”

He wasn’t kidding, believe me.
